Solymar joined VisionFund International in February 2019. She is a global People & Culture Executive with extensive experience as a manager and international consultant, having worked with teams across Latin America, Africa, Asia, the UK and the US. She is a strong believer that organizational success comes from empowering leaders, strengthening key processes and building an employee-centered culture. She has worked across multiple sectors from multinational for-profit organizations to international NGOs focused on financial inclusion and sustainable development and is passionate about social innovation and the positive impact that inclusive financial services and financial education can make for vulnerable communities and families.
Solymar has previously worked with Acción as part of their Human Resources team and as an International Consultant for its Global Operations and Training & Capacity Building Units; and for other Financial Inclusion networks such as Promujer and the Friendship Bridge. She was also President of the Miami chapter of the American Association for Training and Development (ATD), guest speaker for several international events and frequent collaborator of the Social Performance Task Force (SPTF) and the Center for Financial Inclusion (CFI).
Solymar is a certified Team Coach, based on the Action-Reflection-Learning® methodology and holds a B.A. in Psychology, major in Organizational Development and an MSc in Training for Development from the University of Reading, UK. She lives in Miami, US with her two kids, Leonardo and Joaquín and their cat, Peppe.
