Welcoming New Board Member: Dennis Weibling

LONDON – 02 October 2020. VisionFund International is pleased to announce the appointment of Dennis Weibling to its board of directors effective 01 October 2020.

Mr. Weibling is currently the Managing Director of Rally Capital LLC, a private equity firm founded in 2004 in Kirkland, Washington, and brings with him a wealth of experience in the spheres of investment and telecommunications. He has also served or is serving on the boards of many notable entities including Rise Communities LLC, Tempered Networks, Teledesic Corporation, Sarcos Robotics, Inc., Far West Fabricators, LLC, Sotheby’s, and Seattle Pacific University, a Christian university in Washington.

Mr. Weibling and his wife are currently members of World Vision U.S.’s National Leadership Council, serving on the Economic Empowerment Initiative. They have visited development projects in many African countries and South America with World Vision and Medical Teams International where his wife is a Board member. They are members of Bellevue Presbyterian Church in Bellevue, Washington.

Mr. Weibling received his bachelor’s degree from Wittenberg University in Ohio, his CPA license and his law degree and master’s in psychology from the University of Nebraska.

VisionFund International, World Vision’s microfinance subsidiary, has been improving the lives of children in the developing world for over 16 years. By offering small loans and other financial services, clients develop successful businesses, enabling their children to grow up healthy and educated. In FY2019, VisionFund International’s network of microfinance institutions provided loans to one million clients, with nearly three-quarters of these going to women and over a third to clients actively involved in farming. Repayment rates were 97.1%. Also, in FY2019, 3.5 million children were positively impacted through its MFI network located across 28 countries in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin America.
