FAQs about VisionFund Recruitment

How is VisionFund related to World Vision?

VisionFund is World Vision’s financial services and livelihoods provider. As an organisation, VisionFund shares World Vision’s core values and vision: Our vision for every child, life in all its fullness, Our prayer for every heart, the will to make it so.

World Vision is a global Christian relief, development, and advocacy organisation dedicated to working with children, families, and communities to overcome poverty and injustice.

Our partnership with World Vision makes us truly unique. World Vision works with impoverished communities to help them access the nutritious food, water, education and basic healthcare. VisionFund builds on the work of World Vision by working alongside the community to deliver appropriate financial solutions and partnerships to create income and jobs.

Where are the VisionFund jobs located?

VisionFund has regional jobs and global jobs based in several locations around the world (see Where We Work for a list of countries). Each role has a preferred location stated in the job description, which is usually the home country of the successful candidate and must be a location where VisionFund and World Vision are registered to operate. VisionFund’s MFIs have job opportunities that are advertised on their local website, and occasionally expat jobs which are advertised via the VisionFund International website.

Do you have internship and volunteer vacancies?

World Vision International has an internship programme in the USA, within which VisionFund International is included – information is on the World Vision International website. Some World Vision offices and VisionFund microfinance institutions (MFIs) accept local volunteers or interns so eligible/qualified students are encouraged to enquire at their local World Vision or VisionFund office.

How can I submit my CV speculatively?

Send your CV to recruitment@visionfund.org or create a profile on the wvi.org website. We will only contact you if we have a role that matches your profile.

How long is the recruitment process?

Ideally, from the closing date to making a job offer takes 4 to 8 weeks depending on the hiring department’s schedule.

Do I have to come to the office for the panel interview?

Not necessarily. Panel interviews can be conducted via video conference (a conference call link will be provided beforehand) or in person, depending on the type of vacancy, and the location of the panelists and candidate.

How many stages of interviews are there?

This varies according to the position. For leadership positions and for positions with matrix reporting lines, there are usually a few stages of interviews.

Will I get a feedback on the outcome of my interview?

We try our best to provide personalized feedback to all candidates who reach the panel interview stage. Always feel free to ask for feedback from the recruiter.

How long does the written test take?

If a written test is required, it can take from 45 minutes to three hours depending on the competencies being assessed. We will email to request your availability and then email you the test at the specified date and time. It should be completed and sent back to VisionFund International within the given timeframe, as late submissions will be penalized.

What kind of questions are asked in the written test?

The written test contains job-related technical questions to help assess technical skills. We will provide instructions before the test commences.

Will you contact all the referees that I have listed?

We may or may not contact all the referees listed, depending on the type of vacancy.

Will I get an offer letter before the reference check?

No. An offer letter will be issued only after a reference check has been issued.

Will I need to send other documents after signing the offer?

Yes. Most job offers are made subject to certain requirements being fulfilled (such as receipt of satisfactory references). You will be required to fill and scan other forms as a pre-requisite depending on the role, contract type and location. In most locations, one pre-requisite is a criminal record check. If you have questions about this you can discuss it with the recruiter.

How do I contact the VisionFund recruitment team?

Email recruitment@visionfund.org with your resume if you would like to hear about future opportunities at VisionFund or discuss any of the advertised vacancies further.

We look forward to hearing from you.
