Rommel has over 30 years of leadership experience in development work, with focus on financial inclusion. He joined VisionFund in 2000 and has taken on a number of VFI assignments at the MFI, Regional and Global levels. He had been a CEO of VisionFund's high-growth MFIs in Cambodia, Myanmar and the Philippines. He took on a number of global stewardship roles in product oversight, Covid-19 response and lately in global operations focusing on alignment with World Vision.  As an Interim Regional head for Asia, this is his second tour of duty, having successfully served in the same role between 2007 to 2012.  Rommel has served in non-profit boards for over 15 years and enjoys mentoring young leaders.

Rommel and his wife Chris have now resettled in the Philippines after living in a  number of countries in Asia and Africa. They have 4 young adult children and a grandson. In his spare time he enjoys gardening, walking and travelling.
