VisionFund Ecuador Pays Tribute to Regional Diversity

In celebration of Ecuador’s craft-rich heritage and culture of hard work, VisionFund Ecuador has launched a campaign that will add a splash of colour to its communities by creating murals that pay tribute to the diversity of the country’s regions.

The project kicked-off with a mural that depicts the diversity of crafts in the province of Imbabura – from hand-embroidery and textiles to leather and wood handicrafts. Located in San Roque and titled ‘La Ruta de las Artesanías’ or the ‘Route of Crafts’, the mural was created by a renowned local painter Franz del Castillo.

This will be the first of many under the campaign ‘Mural of Opportunities’ where VisionFund Ecuador aims to artistically capture and recognise the work done by its micro-entrepreneurial clients who contribute every day to the progress of the country.

Luis Ríos, General Manager of Banco VisionFund Ecuador, recalls the journey of the organisation since its inception in 1995 as FODEMI, to its transformation in 2015 to a financial institution and then in 2016 to a bank. “This gradual evolution has allowed us to grow with our people and become the bank of opportunities that our people need.”
