A Leader in Coffee Growing

Reina Rivera Alcántara is a coffee producer in Honduras, with five hectares of coffee and plans to obtain a production of 120 quintals of Café Oro. Reina is recognized in her community as a good leader and is always at the service of other people. She is very knowledgable about coffee production and the process of roasting that she shares with other women in her community. When she has a goal, she addresses God in fasting and prayer so that everything is a success.

For the last 20 years she has been a single mother who now has children who are professionals, and, she is raising one of her seven grandchildren since her daughter emigrated from the community. 

Apart from being a coffee producer, Ms. Rivera is currently the President of the "AMPROCASAT" Micro-business, toasting and grinding coffee, she also serves as Vice-President of Microenterprise "LAS CEBOLLITAS" Sauces Producers, is a Partner and belongs to the Board of Directors of Cooperativa de Café "COCREBISTOL", as it also belongs to the Directive of Caja Rural "UNIDOS POR EL DESARROLLO" All of the Community of Santa Teresa, most of these groups are part of the THRIVE Project.
