VisionFund employee Nino

Meet Nino

What has your career path with VisionFund been like?
"God moves in a mysterious way, His wonders to perform; He plants His footsteps in the sea And rides upon the storm."

Little did I know how far I would go with World Vision when I first stepped into the WV Georgia office in 2001. Starting as an Administrative Assistant I quickly moved into the finance officer role and later became the Finance Manager for the MED program, which thrived and became VisionFund's fastest growing microfinance institutions (MFIs).

After a short break from VisionFund to obtain my MBA degree, I came back to work in a global position in VisionFund International's Finance Team. This amazing job gave me the opportunity to work with talented people all around the four regions VFI works in. Every single visit to our MFIs developed me personally and professionally. I loved experiencing -40 degrees freezing cold in Mongolia, sharks in tropical waters, meeting our clients’ children in Guatemala, etc. If you get me talking about the experiences I've had in my career at VisionFund, I'd happily be telling you these thrilling stories for days!

After that role, I became the Regional Finance Director for the Latin America and Caribbean Region (LACR).  Our team camaraderie was great - during those 6 years I cried bitterly when we closed MFIs, cried with joy when we celebrated VisionFund Ecuador’s successful conversion into a bank, we went through earthquakes, political disturbances and more but we always stayed together and enjoyed to the fullest every single achievement and milestone.

And now, all these years of learning, memorable experiences and working with wonderful people, have brought me to Mexico, so I could be CEO of VisionFund's MFI here. As I take up this post, I am full of enthusiasm for the future - I am sure I will enjoy every second spent in this beautiful country and with my amazing and talented team.

"His purposes will ripen fast, Unfolding every hour; The bud may have a bitter taste, But sweet will be the flow’r."
