Bolivia shifted to a democratic form of government in the early
1980s, yet remains one of the poorest and least developed countries in
Latin America. Almost 50% of the population live on less than US$2 each
Educational opportunities are some of the most unevenly distributed on the continent. Indigenous and rural children, especially girls, are less likely to complete even primary school. Bolivia also ranks poorly in areas of malnutrition, mortality and life expectancy.
Many rural areas have limited access to financial services, making rural families living in poverty particularly vulnerable.

VisionFund is working to provide services to some of the most
vulnerable areas of Bolivia. In an effort to meet the needs of our clients and
reduce the impact and effects of poverty on local communities, the team is
working towards offering the following services:
- Payment of electricity
services in rural areas.
- Loans payments to
match the production cycles of communities.
- Increase the number of clients in vulnerable areas with no existing financial services and training.
Lives are positively changed when families access micro loans and other financial services.
