Each child is like a seed of hope for the future. If they receive attention and grow in fertile soil, these seeds will propagate and blossom to their full potential, becoming a strong foundation for the nation.

World Vision Foundation of Thailand has 125,000 children in its sponsorship programme, but thousands more are in dire need. WVFT wants to reach out and relieve their suffering.

World Vision Foundation of Thailand has launched 'The Seed of Hope 2011', a grand campaign to help these children. Starting from the first week of August till the end of September, this initiative will include a variety of activities such as a Charity Road-Show with WVFT Ambassadors or celebrities, to restore happiness and smiling in society's needy children.

WVFT cordially invites kindhearted donors to join this activity. Your participation will bring opportunities and smiles to these underprivileged children. They urgently need our help.

Let's seed the future

Currently, there are some 3,2 million underprivileged school children in our country, of which 2.9 million are very poor, living in difficult circumstances and in dire need of help. They need better livelihood, including age-appropriate development opportunities.

WVFT's "The Seed of Hope 2011" project is a response to the above distressing situation. Over 30 years experience has taught us that the best way to transform a child's life is to transform their entire environment. Our development programmes are based on detailed 15-year plans during which children, their families and communities are guided towards self-sufficiency.

You can help us to make a difference. By sponsoring a child for only 17 baht per day or 500 Baht per month, WVFT will use this money to improve and develop the living conditions of children with regard to sanitation, education and family occupation development towards sustainable development.

Working in Thailand

Like many countries in the developing world this country has seen many changes in leadership. This has affected all areas of the country’s social and economic infrastructure, including that of the banking industry.

Many households are female-headed and are usually responsible for more than one child. Most families live on a subsistence level and lack the finances to meet basic human needs such as medical supplies when needed, children’s education, and adequate food.

These families are particularly vulnerable, as the women generally have little or no formal education, and no land or productive assets. The poor’s vulnerability to financial shocks or emergencies is one of the core aspects of poverty.

With the vast majority of the population not having access to financial services, our work in this country is critical.
