microfinance institutions was recently conferred the ‘Smart Campaign Client
This is a
recognition of the organisation´s alignment of their management systems,
policies and processes with the SMART Campaign’s Client Protection Principles
and the strong commitment from management to promote growth and institutional
development within a client protection framework.
Protection Principles (CPPs) are a globally recognized framework for ensuring client
protection. Adhering to this framework helps financial services providers minimize
harm to clients. By becoming Smart Certified, an institution demonstrates that
it puts the CPPs into practice. When institutions follow the Client
Protection Principles, the whole sector benefits including financial service
providers, investors, regulators, and most of all, clients.
